Friday 13th may be unlucky to some but for Lindsay and the team at the Dimond Hastings branch it’s the opposite. With construction complete Friday 13th of March saw the opening of the new Wilson Rd Branch.
Officially opened on Friday afternoon by Hastings Mayor Lawrence Yule the new building comes at an exciting time for Dimond.
Purpose built for manufacturing, Hastings will have a quarter round gutter machine installed within the month with further machinery planned to be installed over time. This will ensure that customers are able to access quality products within industry lead times.
A key feature of the day was the new custom built Dimond trucks and trailers. As a first for New Zealand these unique trucks received a lot of interest, whether it was looking at the split level deck which allows for safer transporting of easily damaged parts or the detailed satellite navigation system which allows Dimond to monitor exactly how far away deliveries are and pass this information onto customers.
“We now have an excellent logistics offering that matches the quality of the products we provide” commented Dimond General manager Darren O’Brien.
Branch Manager Lindsay Jones comments “Friday was an exciting day for us, not only did it see the new Hastings branch officially opened but it gave us the chance to get together with our customers and talk about our futures moving forward together. For us to be successful we need to ensure we are doing what we can to help our customers be successful.”
Attended by key customers and suppliers the branch opening was a successful day, and gave all those who attended the chance to see first hand the advancements made within Dimond.
Darren O’Brien also spoke of commitment to local areas, “Good business is about making a commitment to the local community and standing strong despite challenges. When I look at what’s in store for the next few years the idea of strength and commitment become important. The acknowledgment that yes, things are tough right now and yes, things will get harder. But we are in an excellent position to move forward, we are stronger than ever before and our commitment to our customers throughout New Zealand is solid”.
This sentiment was shared by Mayor Yule who congratulated Dimond for their ongoing commitment to the Hastings area and also acknowledged the work Dimond were doing moving forward.
With over 30 years supplying New Zealand Dimond products are designed and manufactured in New Zealand, ensuring the quality and durability required for our conditions. As part of Fletcher Building, Dimond offers customers a name they can trust.
